Cindy Hardin-Weiss, PT and Christina Hardin-Weiss, ST founded AECorner in 2015 because we were seeing too many seniors struggling every day to care for themselves. Most of our clients have the same goal and that is to remain as independent as possible in their home. Many times, this goal can be achieved by simply having the right tools. As most therapists are aware, there are catalogs FULL of adaptive equipment available to assist their clients with just about any need. However, many seniors, including their caregivers are NOT aware and even more frightening, do not know how to use the equipment safely. Our goal is to be a trusted resource for individuals looking for information regarding adaptive equipment and how to use it safely to enhance senior’s ability to age in place.
Adaptive Equipment & Caregiving Corner produces educational and instructional videos. Our mission is to enhance continuity of care from healthcare facility to home, increase client and caregiver safety during daily care and improve and maintain the client’s optimal level of functional independence.

The Veteran’s Heat Factory is an organization initiated to empower Veterans who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) by providing services and linkage to resources that unlock their full potential, inspire personal growth, encourage community integration, and support their ability to re-enter the workforce and achieve lifelong success.
VHF service offerings include:
– Establishing relationships with organizations to facilitate support systems for our military community
– Increase public awareness of Post-Traumatic Stress
– Using Psycho-education as a form of treatment for Veterans with PTSD and their families
– Assisting spouses, children, and other family members, in the healing process of the individual with PTSD
Too often, alternative treatment options fail to; appropriately address the impact of PTSD on the family and/or raise awareness of the increasing needs of the military community through public events, media outlets, social media, service organizations, and churches.
“Our Veterans have earned the best we can provide, regardless of their current circumstances. I have decided that the rest of my working life will be focused on helping those that have served for a better life for me and our country, our American Veterans.” – Gus Guadagnino, Founder of Veteran’s Heat Factory.

Hernando County is home to many brave men and women who have put their lives on the line to serve our country and keep us safe. They have always been there for us. We need to be there for them when they are struggling with wounds of war that we cannot see! These programs will give them a shoulder to lean on and our community should be proud to support them!
