Primary Record is the app designed for families to have one secure place to organize, collaborate, and share health data – bringing together invaluable information scattered across patient portals, three ring binders and post-it notes. With confidence, family members and trusted advocates are empowered to organize medical information for seamless sharing with those who matter most, enabling them to quickly retell the health journey before, between and after appointments.

We are also powering Primary Record Professional, a secure management system for care managers and patient advocates in one easy to use, secure portal. With frequent changes and complex moving parts, a centralized hub for an individual’s care team is imperative. Seamless communication between caregivers, knowing when things change and ensuring a cohesive experience from doctors office to at-home care, results in better coordinated care and improved outcomes.

What is AARP doing to advocate for family caregivers?
o AARP has endorsed four congressional bills that could help make caregivers’ lives just a little bit easier.
 Credit for Caring Act (S. 3702/H.R. 7165) – which would provide a new, annual, nonrefundable federal tax credit of up to $5,000 to eligible family caregivers to help address the financial challenges of caring for older parents, spouses and other loved ones while remaining in the workforce.
 Lowering Costs for Caregivers Act (S. 3254/H.R. 7222) – Allow HSA/FSA/health reimbursement account/Archer MSA to be used for qualified medical expenses for parent or spouse’s parent. Florida sponsor: Vern Buchanan (FL-16) and co-sponsors Aaron Bean (FL-4), Gus Bilirakis (FL-12)
 Alleviating Barriers for Caregivers Act (S. 3109/H.R. 8018) – which would require federal agencies to reduce red tape and improve customer service for family caregivers who help their loved one enroll in and benefit from Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Florida sponsor: Kat Cammack (FL-3)
 Connecting Caregivers to Medicare Act (S. 3766/H.R. 7274) – Requires CMS to publicize the voluntary option for 1-800-MEDICARE to share a Medicare beneficiary’s health information with a family caregiver(s) they choose. Florida Co-sponsor: Gus Bilirakis (FL-12)
