Parc Center for Disabilities has been serving children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1953. Our “person-centered” approach has garnered Parc’s reputation as a progressive leader in our field and in the community. Our Caregiver Relief/Respite Services program was awarded last week by ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center as an Innovative and Exemplary Program for 2022! This is an incredibly prestigious award that is given to only 5 programs across the country annually. Caregiver Relief Services supports families with children with a diagnosed disability, developmental delay, and/or documented trauma, in an effort to reduce caregiver stress and burnout, prevent child abuse and neglect, and keep the family unit intact. Disability Achievement Center is an extraordinary organization like all centers for independent living. It is run by people with disabilities who themselves have been successful in establishing independent lives. These employee team members have both the training and the personal experience to know what is needed to live independently. They have deep commitment to assisting other people with disabilities in becoming more independent and achieving the personal goals they have set for themselves. Fortunately, people with disabilities don’t have to do it all on their own. The purpose of the Disability Achievement Center is to support the kinds of programs, services and activities which are designed specifically to assist people with disabilities in achieving and maintaining an independent lifestyle. https://www.mydacil.org
