Peter V. Rabins
has 45 years of experience in the field of dementia care as a geriatric psychiatrist, professor, author and lecturer.
Dr. Rabins founded Johns Hopkins Hospital’s Division of Geriatric Psychiatry and was a faculty member of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences from 1978-2012 (full-time) and 2013-2017 (part-time). While at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Rabins led clinical, research, and education programs focused on a variety of issues relevant to the care of older people with psychiatric symptoms and to people with psychiatric symptoms of neurologic disease. He was also a Professor of the Practice at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County from 2015-2018. He continues to lecture, consult, and conduct research on issues relevant to older individuals with dementia and other psychiatric problems. He also performs legal reviews of issues relevant to older individuals with psychiatric, mental health, and neurocognitive disorders and maintains an active sculpture studio.
