Fire Chief Brett Schlatterer & Jillian Rose from the Pinellas Park Fire Department:
The mission of Pinellas Park Fire Department is to protect the public by reducing or preventing personal injury or property damage due to fire, medical emergency, disaster or other life hazard by providing public education, incident prevention and emergency response services. Chief Schlatterer is very supportive of the public education programs in his fire department and recently launched the new Pinellas Park C.A.R.E.S. program to help aid with fall prevention in our community.
Chief Schlatterer – Pinellas Park Fire Chief, Brett Schlatterer began his fire service career in 1994, with Hillsborough County Fire Department and accepted a position with the Pinellas Park Fire Department on 08/28/1996 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. Soon after he was promoted to Acting Lieutenant 4/1/2003, Lieutenant 6/8/2005, Acting District Chief 4/3/2013, Division Training Chief 1/22/2014, Deputy Chief of Operations 2/17/2016 and then to Pinellas Park Fire Chief 1/17/2018.

Jillian Rose – Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Administration – State Certified Fire/Life Safety Educator, Fire Inspector II, Public Information Officer, and CPR Instructor. Jillian has been with the City of Pinellas Park Fire Department for 7 years and her duties include fire inspections, fire investigations, and fire and life safety education for the Pinellas Park Fire District (Pinellas Park, Kenneth City, & Unincorporated Pinellas County). Jillian’s primary passion is keeping her community safe through public education programs designed for all ages to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to promote safer and healthier citizens to enhance their awareness of total life safety.

Getting people involved in fall prevention is a tough task and a topic that many people shy away from, however her fall prevention efforts have brought in audiences of over 500 people for one viewing. Jillian is currently launching a new program designed by her Fire Chief called Pinellas Park C.A.R.E.S. (Community Assistance through Resources, Education, and Safety). The Pinellas Park C.A.R.E.S. program monitors statistics of older adults that have suffered a fall and will speak on how she is assisting her fire department on being proactive to prevent future falls with the help of resources that serve seniors at the national, state or community level, meal delivery programs, home companion groups, senior center associations, caregiver support, and much more.
